WELCOME TO LUCKY PAW
MAKING THE IMPOSSIBLE, POSSIBLE

BECAUSE WE LOVE HAPPY ENDINGS.
The Lucky Paw Foundation was established to help animals in Northern Michigan get advanced, life-changing veterinary care at the most critical moment.
The animals that we help, have found themselves in very difficult situations. Most have had unexpected medical complications that require advanced medical care by a specialist.
Oftentimes, the families have already spent thousands of dollars on their care and may not be able to afford the advanced treatment that is needed to fix the problem.
Support from
Lucky Paw can literally mean the difference between giving their pet a healthy, normal life or putting them down. That’s where
Lucky Paw comes in. We provide the financial support to get them over the finish line! Please enjoy their stories.
MEET TUCKER
Tucker’s story exemplifies all that the Lucky Paw Foundation stands for. We are a community of incredibly compassionate animal lovers that value the relationship between animals and their owners. When things go terribly wrong … when owners do everything right … and the situation is dire, that’s when Lucky Paw works it’s magic!
BARNEY'S JOURNEY
Barney is our newest member of the Lucky Paw Foundation family. He is an 8-year-old, very personable and outgoing Boston Terrier who was simply exploring his new backyard when disaster hit. He fell into a 15 foot pit well and fractured BOTH of his forelegs at the elbows. At first it was difficult to even find a surgeon who was capable of doing the work. And, when they found him, the cost was an extraordinary $11,000. Finding a way forward seemed nearly impossible.
His family had just moved into a home that was new to them, money was tight and myriad other unexpected expenses were mounting. It was tight enough that the family had to consider euthanasia as an option.

That’s when his veterinarian reached out to the Lucky Paw Foundation. After confirming that there was a reasonable chance for a successful surgery, we were eager to help out. His owners were able to get a loan for $6000 and Lucky Paw paid for the rest. We are very proud to be part of his life-saving journey!
Barney is currently in recovery, but making great progress every day! He never complains and is working very hard so that he can resume his usual ball-playing activity.

HOW TO APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE
Lucky Paw is building relationships with veterinarians in order to help the most desperate patients. Our recipients must reside in one of these Michigan counties: Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Mackinac, Schoolcraft or Chippewa.
Recipients have usually contributed a significant effort or investment only to reach a point where the resolution to the illness involves a veterinary specialist’s surgery or care, but the costs are prohibitive. Lucky Paw wants to help those animals get the final life-changing veterinary care they need at the most dire moment.
We only accept contact and applications from the patient’s licensed veterinarian.
If you think your veterinarian would be interested in working with us, please have them
contact us so that we can further share our mission and criteria for applicants.
